National Cardmaking Day.

Hi there dear friends, / Hej kære venner,
Sorry it´s been so long, but my life hasn´t really been with me here for a while, so the blog has been pretty down priotized, and as todays entry is only for and about Scandinavians, I wount make the rest of it in English today, but I promisse, that I have new work to share one of the first days here, so hope, my English speaking friends will bare with me here today. Have a wonderful day dear freinds.

Undskyld det har taget så lang tid at få blogget her på det sidste, men mit liv har ikke været helt enig med mig i hvor meget, jeg skulle, så må indrømme min blog har været lidt nedprioriteret på det seneste, men jeg lover, at jeg her en af de næste dage har noget nyt arbejde lavet, som jeg vil vise jer, så jeg håber, at I alle vil bære lidt over med mig.
Dagens indlæg er kun for og om Skandinaver, hvorfor jeg kun vil skrive resten her på dansk også, da det ikke er relevant for mine engelsktalende venner.

Det skal nemlig handle om National Cardmaking Day, som er her den 4. oktober, og som vi vil fejre på The Paper Crafting her hele ugen op til.

Som I kan se af annoncen herover, starter vi allerede lørdag d. 27 september med at annoncere en præmie hver dag til og med fredag d. 3 oktober. Alle vinderne offentliggøres så på The Paper Crafting lørdag d. 4. oktober, som er National Cardmaking Day.

For at kunne deltage i lodtrækningerne, skal man være bosat i enten Danmark, Norge eller Sverige, og man skal så lægge en kommentar under de indlæg, hvor hver af præmierne offentliggøres.

Derudover kan du øge dine vinderchancer ved at dele links til indlæggene på din egen blog, eller på alle sociale medier, hvor du er, så som Face Book, Pinterest, Twitter, Google+ o.l. Du vil få ét ekstra lod for hvert sted du deler. Der bli´r trukket en vinder for hver præmie mellem dem, som har kommenteret under hvert indlæg inden midnat fredag d. 3 oktober, og så bli´r alle vinderne offentliggjort på The Paper Crafting på Cardmaking Day lørdag d. 4 oktober.

Derudover laver vi et online galleri hvor du kan få dit bedste kort publiceret på webmagasinet også. Som I kan se af ovenstående annonce her, så finder I det kort, som I selv mener, er det bedste, I har lavet, og sender et billede af det vedhæftet en mail til:  editor@thepapercrafting.com, hvorefter de så alle vil blive tilføjet vores åbne galleri der, så alle kan se, hvad I har lavet. 

Man kan dog max. deltage med 5 kort hver, men mon såå ikke også man kan få vist lidt godt af det, man går og laver, det tror jeg nok, man kan.

Del det med så mange venner som muligt, så vi kan få en rigtig festlig dag ud af det, med så mange deltagende som overhovedet muligt, for det er jo med det som med alt andet, at jo flere vi er, jo sjovere bli´r det som regel, så fortæl det til alle du kender derude, hvor det er, det sker okay?

The joy of crafting with kids.

As I told you in my last entry, it hadn´t all been hard work here lately, we certainly had a really great expirience here last week-end too.

Do you ever craft with kids around you? It is such a rewarding thing in sooo many ways, and sometimes it can even give us  a much bigger reward, than we ever think.

As you all probably know by now, I often have all my granddaughters here, and they just LOVE to play here in my craftroom, and they all have their own drawers with each their own stuff too, that they can use as they like, and they often do and they´re all very creative, but especially Tascha 9 y.o. and Trine 7 y.o. is into almost any craft, you can think of, and just want to try it al as often as they get a chance for it.

Then here last week-end, my son were attending a big Spring- and Family fair here, where he had a stand, but then he was invited to one of his oldest friends wedding that saturday, so ofcause mum and dad jumped in and took over the work on the stand for him there. But then my daughter called too, they needed a babysitter for the girls, as they were also invited to that wedding, and my son in laws mum were supposed to look after them this time, but had got sick, so could we help? And sure ofcause we always love to have the girls, but as we had promissed the fair, the girls just had to go with us there too, but as it was a Familyfair, they didn´t mind that at all, as there were loads for kids to see and do there too, so of we went early in the morning, and they were allowed to run and lok around until they opened, and they both came back sooo exited, cause there were a stand there for a free school, who arranged a craft contest for kids during the fair, and they begged if they could go and join, cause they could win some circustickets, and they really wanted to try and see, if they couldn´t win those. And who can say no to 2 lovely kids with begging eyes? No me neither, so of we went to get them in, as I had to sign for them to join, as they were under age ofcause, and they needed my phonenumber, so they could call an adult, in case they should win anything, as the prizes would first be drawn by the other kids on their school monday morning, so I just signed and didn´t think much more about that, because there would be hundreds of kids during the entire week-end and I was busy. So big was the surprise, when I got a call monday morning, that Tascha had won the Main prize there, and if we could come down to their school, so she could get it, and they would like to have a picture of her too ofcause. And ofcause mum and dad was at work, so again Gran had to step in ofcause,  and Tuesday we went to pick her up from school and take her down to the school, she had won from, and she was so exited, and eeven more, when we got here and found out, that she got a big check with the prize, which was a week-end stay for the entire familiy on a huge Spa Hotel here in 2014. And guess what the kid just said, when she heard the prize? She just exclaimed: " But I thought, I won the Circustickets" ha ha ha. But it was only until she found out, how much this prize was compared to the tickets, and gran told her, she could take this check and then I would be happy to buy her these circustickets ha ha ha, but she soon chanvged her minds on that and got the biggest smile on her face, when she found out, that this had a value of 2500,- kr

And I can tell  it was also a proud grandma, when she said out loud during the cermony, that she was really the luckiest girl to have a grandma like me, who gothereds to teach them all this, else she would never have won such a big prize, and you should all have seen her face, when we got back home to mum, and she claimed loudly, that she would love to invite Mum, Dad and Trine to join her on that week-end. That is really big, when you´re only 9 y.o, so it´s really rewarding in many ways to take the kids with you to the craftroom and share all the joy there with them.

Som jeg fortalte i mit tidligere indlæg, havde vi så sandelig en helt fantastisk oplevelse her sidste week-end også.. 

Scrapper I ofte med jeres børn/børnebørn omkring jer? Hvis ikke, så skulle I bestemt begynde at gøre det, det er bare fantastisk, og især når man som jeg oplevede for nylig ser dem få en helt usædvanlig belønning for deres anstrengelse, som vi oplevede her sidste week-end.

Jeg var i mange år ked af, at min egen datter aldrig nogen sinde gad noget some helst kreativt på nogen måde, men har nu efterhånden fået 6 børnebørn, plus 2 reservebørnebørn hvoraf de 7 er piger og så lige en enkelt dreng. Men fælles for dem alle er, at de bare elsker at komme hjem til far_/mormor og lege i hendes hobbyrum, og vi har i mange år haft den tradition, at alle der overhovedet kunne kom hjem en hel uge i både efterårsferien og igen i vinterferien, og så gik det ellers bare ud på

at få lavet, så meget, som man nu overhovedet kunne nå af hvad de forskellige nu havde lyst til, og vi har godt nok haft gang i lidt af hvert gennem årene, og jeg tror ikke, der er den hobby, som ikke har været afprøvet, lige fra at lave alle former for kort, glasmaling, fingermaling, æsker, altered art, smykker lavet af alle tænkelige og også utænkelige materialer gennem årene, syet dukketøj, lavet dukkehuse, og hvad ellers fantasien har rakt til, og ungerne har bare elsket det, og taget som en selvfølge, at det bare var en ubrydelig tradition. Og de prøvede endda om de ikke kunne flytte en efterårsferie et år, fordi jeg desværre måtte en tur på hospitalet og opereres, så det fortæller lidt om, hvor meget det åbenbart betyder for dem også.

De har alle deres egne skuffer og skabe her i mit hobbyrum, hvor de har deres egne private ting og projekter, som de kan gemmer fra gang til gang, de er her. Desværre som de blir større, bli´r det ikke så ofte som før, da de jo selvfølgelig skal passe deres skole, men hvor er det bare skønt at se, at alt det de har lært gennem årene stadig hænger ved og bliver brugt og gír dem nogle fantastiske oplevelser stadigvæk, og det fik vi det bedste bevis for her sidste week-end, hvor vi skulle passe en stand  for vores søn på den store forårs- og familie messe her, da de blev inviteret til et bryllup med en gammel barndomsven, så selvfølgelig ville vi hjælpe til derinde, men så kom min datter også og manglede en barnepige, da de så også var inviteret til samme bryllup, og hvad gør man så? Jo man tár da selvfølgelig bare pigerne med, for det var jo som sagt en familie messe, så der var masser at foretage sig også for børn, og blandt andet var der en stand for en friskole, som havde arrangeret en hobby konkurrence for børn derinde, og den skulle begge piger da selvfølgelig op og deltage i, da det jo lige var i deres gebet, og så kunne man jo vinde nogle cirkus billetter, som de gerne ville prøve om de ikke kunne blive de heldige vindere af.

Som sagt så gjort, de gik op og kom også ind og lavede deres project, som blev udstillet på deres stand, og så kom de, at mormor var nødt til at gå med op og lægge sit tlf nummer, så de kunne deltage, for vinderen ville live trukket af skolens elever om mandagen, hvilket jo var ret fair, så vi kom op og fik dem med i konkurrencen, og de gik spændte hele week-enden, om de nu var gode nok til at vinde de der billetter, som de så gerne ville vinde, men endnu større var benovelsen nu, da jeg mandag formiddag blev ringet op, at Tascha var blevet udtrukket til hovedpræmien, som jeg ikke engang var klar over hvad var, da de jo kun havde snakket om de der cirkus billetter hele week-enden, og de ville gerne om hun kunne komme ned på skolen og få præmien overrakt, så de kunne få et billede af hende, når hun fik den, og selvfølgelig skulle hun da há den ære med også, og da mor og far jo skulle på arbejde måtte mormor afsted igen og hente barnet og ned på omtalte skole, og tro mig stor var glæden, da vi fandt ud af, at hun faktisk havde vundet et helt week-end ophold for hele familien på et stort Spa hotel her i 2014 til en værdi af 2500,- kr. Og hvad tror I ungen siger?? Jo hun siger: jamen jeg troede da det var cirkusbilletter jeg skulle vinde ha ha ha, men da hun så fandt ud af, hvad det var i forhold, kom der ret hurtigt et kæmpe smil på, og hun blev helt ustyrlig, og endnu mere, da Inspektøren for skolen fortalte, at alle børnene på skolen havde holdt afstemning under deres fælles morgensang og en stemmigt havde valgt hendes bidrag som vinder, selv om hun ikke engang gik på deres skole, da blev hun da virkelig stolt, og det blev mormor bestemt endnu mere, da hun højlydt erklærede, at hvor var hun bare heldig, at hun havde sådan en fed mormor, der gad lære dem alle de ting, ellers havde hun jo aldrig lært at lave alt muligt og aldrig vundet sådan en fin præmie. Og at se og høre hende, da vi kom hjem til mor, og hun højlydt forkyndte, at hun altså gerne ville invitere mor, far og Trine med på det week-end ophold, det var simpelthen guld værd. Det er bare rigtig stort, når man kun er 9 år, så jo det er guld værd på mange måder, at tage børnene med i hobbyrummet, det kan der godt nok komme mange gode ting ud af, det er helt sikkert.

And now the prize for the kids challenge finally arrived.

As I showed you a little while ago, some of my grandkids joined Mo´s childrens challenge, and also was soo lucky to get a littl surprise from her too with a sweet personal letter for them, and it finally arrived here a few days ago, and we ofcause had all the kids gathered here again to open the packet. They were sooo exited to see, what they´d got, but not even I had seen it before they opened it, so here´s the pics from the night, when they got to open it here.

 They were very exited and didn´t totally agree, who was the one to open it, so we had them to do their best to all do it the same time, even it was a bit hard ha ha ha

 Inside was sonwe really cute small notebooks with a very special pen with them too, and nice  shared with one for a boy and 3 for the girls, and all different, so that thanks god couldn´t give any other problems then, as I just gave them one each and that was it ha ha ha, but they didn´t think much about that either, I´m sure, as they were just too exioted to actually have got something for their work.

There was also a nice letter in the packet for them, so they had some real proof, even after the book was used up ha ha ha. It was definitely 4 very very proud kids, who went home with their small prizes that night, that´s for sure.

The grandkids are trying to outdo me, and joining a challenge.

Hello there dear friends,
First I want to thank all of you for all the wonderful and sweet xcomment here about my work the last days. It really means a lot to me, that you like, what I´m creating, and I always love to hear, what you think of it.
Today I don´t have one of my cards to share with you, but my grandkids has been very busy here the last couple of days.
As some maybe knows, Mo´s Digital Pencil have a challenge for kids of all ages this week, and I knew right away, that the girls would be thrilled, as especially Tascha has been complaaining more times, why it was always only the adults, who could join to win something, so ofcause I had to tell her, that now was the chance. So not only her and her læittle sister Trione ofcause wanted to join, but also my sons girlfriends kids wanted to try their luck, so all 4 kids came here yesterday and went very busy right away creating cards with Mo´s images. Unfortunately Simone and Anders couldn´t be here today, so they had to rush a bit yesterday to finish theirs, and I admit, I totally forgot to take any pics yesterday, so I don´t have any of them being busy bee´s, but Tascha and Trine stayed here today too, so they had time to put some more effort into theirs, and I admit, I´m really proud of, what the kids achieved, that´s for sure. Especially as they´re not that old yet, but they really love to play here in my craftroom, which I´m sure, you can all see from these picstures:

 And here´s Trine already writing in her card, which ofcause had to go home for mum and dad.

 And here´s both of them soo busy, that they didn´t even notice, I took the picture ha ha.

 And here´s Tascha´s card. She´s just 9, so I´m really impressed, how much she thought of the smallest details here. I think, she´s been looking quite a bit over my shoulders, when I´ve been working here ha ha.

 And this is Trines card, she´s only 6, and even she haven´t quite got as much sense of the tiniest details yet, I really think, she did an awesome job on this one, but it also took her several hours to make ha ha ha.

 This is Simones card, she´s also only 9, and did an awesome jobb, thinking of, she only had a few hours to make hers, so she did an awesome job here too, I think.

And here we finally have Anders´s card, he´s only 7. I admit, I was a little surprised, when he announced, he ewanted to make one too, as he´s a boy and have never shown any interst for these things before, but ofcause he should join too, when he wanted to, and thinking about, this is his first card ever, he certainly did an amazing job too, and I´m really proud of all of them, that´s for sure.

I wount be here the next couple of days, as it´s tomorrow, I have my appointment with the eyesurgeon at the hospital, and they´ll put something in my eyes, so I wouldn´t be able to see anything the next 24 hours, they said, but never mind that, if they´ll just decide to fix that stupid cataract now, so my vision can get back to normal again.

And we´ve reached the work here from May now.

And now we´ve got to the work, that I´ve been making around May here. It has been mostly cards, that I was making for a big competition that were set up by Marianne Design in an Australian webstore, but it was open for worldwide entries, so I made 4 entries, just to find out, we were only allowed to enter 2 LOL, so I had to chose just 2 to enter, but here´s all 4 of them thoug, and I´ve also been making a few of those cute tealightholders out of empty toiletrolls. I´ve always been a fan of everything, that I can create by reusing things, we would else normally throw away. And as such I´ve also made my own glass cuttingmat here, as you can see too. I was reading a lot about, they should be soo much better than the selfhealing mats and would save the knifeblades a lot too, so I had been looking around to see, where they could be found and how expensive they were. I also found a couple different ones, but they were pretty  expensive, and then I would even have to order them abroad, and to that price would also come a pretty high postage, because it ofcause, as it was glass weighed quite a bit, and as such was pretty expensive to get shipped here. So I was still thinking forth and back, if it was worth it, when hubby suddenly said, but can´t you use one of the glass shelves from our old fridge, which had gone dead last year. And ofcause I went out to see, and yes quite right, we still had a couple of these shelves standing out in the outbuilding, so out to get one, and yes it was made of safetyglass, that can´t brake, and it even had a fancy plasticedge on it, that fits perfect for the arm to rest on, when I´m cutting. It got out, and was nicely cleaned, and then I found the last of a selfadhesive measurementtape, I had found in the US last year for 2 $. I had already used a part of it to set on the edge of my cuttingtable, and now I was able to use some more of it to cut up and put on all sides of this plate here. And yes it´s right, this cuttingmat is really the best I´ve ever had to cut on, and it haven´t even cost me 2$ to make, as it´s all made of stuff, that would probably have been thrown out, if  we hadn´t got this idea, but now it´s all used to the last bit, which is sooo cool.
But here´s the next pictures, and I hope, you´ll like, what I´ve done here.

 This is the cuttingplate I made from the old shelve from the fridge.

And next here is the different small giftboxes I´ve made from those old toiletrolls. They fit just perfectly for some of these fine tealights to go inside for a hostesgift, or you can ofcause also fill them with other things as you like.

 Next here are 2 ordinary cards made for a couple of birthdays around here, nothing fancy or special about them.

 And then here comes those 4 cards, I made for that Marianne design competition, but unfortunately none of them were picked as winners thoug, but I´m still pretty satisfied with them anyway thoug. Ofcause they could probably have ben better, but they could also been a lot worser thoug ha ha ha

 And here´s a couple of small bags, that I made for the girls and decorated with a very special stampimage, that a very sweet girl, Anna here from  http://cuddlebugcuties.blogspot.dk/ had made for Tascha for her birthday, and even called the image for Tascha, so she was sooo proud, she had big tears in her eyes, when she saw it. Anna is a very special girl, who´s drawing the most awesome digistamps and give a lot away for free on her blog very often, so you should go and give her a visit, and see all her wonderful work there.
But she made this as I said and sent for tascha the day before her birthday, so we managed to make a few things with it the first day with the girls themself, and then I made these in the week-end after, when they came here to spend the week-end.

This was the last, you´re gtting tonight here, as it´s getting late here now, and then there´s only one load left til tomorrow, and then I´ve uploaded everything up til now, wxcept from all my old and newer tutorials, that I ofcause are going to upload here again at some time, but not quite sure, if I´ll get that done before the eyesurgery thoug, but now we´ll see, how far I´ll get before then.
